FBI Paper
Shane Vanderpool 3/7/17 3rd Period Ever wondered if you were being tracked or looked at? The FBI shouldn’t be able to hack iPhones because of our constitutional rights. Our 4th amendment does not state that a corporation has to help the law enforcement. According to Randall G. Holcombe author of Apple CEO was right to defend basics, “Apple phones have features that protect the privacy of the information on them, and the Fourth Amendment guarantees people this right to privacy. Our 4th amendment is stating that we have our right to keep our things private if we want to. If you go against the constitutional rights it’s like people don’t care about the constitution and our rights as an American citizen. If the government starts going against the constitution, they begin a slow process of taking away American rights. According to Whitt Flora author of Apple's refusal to cooperate harms FBI's counterterrorism effort, Our political leaders have been slow to heed those warnings. Now, hopefully, they are starting to realize that World War III might have already started. It will not end until we eliminate the tens of thousands of extremists eager to carry out horrible attacks. The 4th amendment is OUR rights as American citizens. What we do on our own time with things we paid for shouldn’t concern anyone. The government is so tied up in what everyone else is doing when they hardly do their own jobs. If our government could get a grip we wouldn’t have all of this terrorism. If you get a phone do the right things on it so we don’t have to go through all of this trouble. The FBI wants to keep Americans safe, but American rights too. According to Randall C. Holcombe author of Apple's refusal to cooperate with the FBI was the right thing to do I have seen arguments that Apple refused to unlock the phone for business reasons, to protect the value of its brand. Americans have the right to possess information without having to share it with the government. And Apple has the right to provide products that help Americans protect this right. We have our rights for a reason. Our constitution has been here since September 17, 1787. It’s not just a piece of paper, it’s a document to protect us and to make sure we don’t get overthrown by our government. Our government is a big part to our problems as a country. We also have a lot of problems with letting immigrants into our country. Terrorism plays a big role in our country also. ISIS is a big deal and all of the shootings that happen.
